Overview

This 8-day adventure takes you across Rwanda, blending culture, nature, and iconic wildlife experiences. From Kigali, enjoy a community homestay, explore the rainforests of Nyungwe National Park with chimpanzee trekking and waterfalls, relax along Lake Kivu in Karongi, and conclude in Volcanoes National Park with an unforgettable mountain gorilla trek before returning to Kigali for departure.

Itineraries

Day 1: Arrival to Rwanda

A warm welcome by your driver guide at the check-out point. Head to M-Hotel with your private vehicle.
Swift Check-in at your hotel. Your driver guide will brief you about your trip more exquisitely.
Dinner and Overnight.

Day 2: Transfer to Ruhango – Community experience

  • 08:30 – Pickup from your hotel by your driver guide.
  • 09:00 – Visit the Kigali Genocide Memorial to learn about the agonizing story of Rwanda and embrace the current beauty of the country.
  • Lunch at Heaven Boutique Restaurant and drive to the Southern part of the country.
  • 15:00 – Start the Azizi homestay experience. This includes an evening around the fire with stories and dances.
  • Overnight at an artisan home.

Day 3: Transfer to Nyungwe National Park

  • 08:00 – Breakfast with Azizi family.
  • 09:00 – Depart from Ruhango.
  • 10:00 – Visit the Nyanza King’s Palace.
  • 12:00 – Lunch in Butare.
  • 15:00 – Birding experience in Nyungwe National Park.
  • 18:00 – Check-in at Maravilla Resort.
  • Dinner and Overnight.

Day 4: Chimpanzee Trek

  • 05:00 – Start the briefing for the chimpanzee tracking. Proceed with the activity.
  • Lunch and afternoon at leisure at Maravilla Resort.
  • Overnight.

Day 5: Nature walk & Transfer to Karongi

  • 08:00 – Breakfast at the hotel.
  • 09:00 – Take a briefing for the waterfall hike. Proceed with the activity.
  • 13:00 – Freshen up and lunch from your hotel. Check-out and head out to Karongi.
  • 17:00 – Check-in at Umutuzo Lodge.
  • 18:00 – Take part in a traditional fishing night excursion.
  • Dinner, and Overnight at Umutuzo Lodge.

Day 6: Transfer to Volcanoes National Park

  • 08:00 – Kayak, island visit and crop to cup coffee experience.
  • 13:00 – Lunch at Umutuzo Lodge followed by check-out.
  • 15:00 – Drive to Musanze.
  • 17:00 – Check-in at Grotta Resort.
  • Dinner, and Overnight.

Day 7: Gorilla Trekking

  • 06:00 – Breakfast at the hotel.
  • 07:00 – Start the briefing for your gorilla trekking, and proceed with the activity.
  • 13:00 – Transfer to your hotel to freshen up and lunch.
  • Spend the afternoon at leisure. Dinner, and Overnight at Grotta Resort.

Day 8: Departure

  • 09:00 – Check-out from Grotta Resort.
  • 10:00 – Visit the Ellen DeGeneres Campus, and proceed to Kigali.
  • 13:00 - Lunch at Repub Lounge.
  • Transfer to the airport in time for your departure flight.
